As downtown Evanston continues to grow skyward with new developments and old apartment buildings converting to condominiums, many homeowners may face a new set of challenges as they adapt to living within a condominium association. Others may have questions about long-term issues concerning building upkeep and financing of repairs. Unfortunately, resources for condo owners and association can be difficult to find.

To answer these and other questions, Rep. Hamos will welcome constituents to a seminar on condominium law on October 13, 2004. The event will be held at the Evanston Hilton Garden Inn, 1818 Maple St. , from 4 pm to 7 pm.

The seminar will feature Mark Pearlstein, a partner at Levenfield Pearlstein, LLC and the Chicago Tribune's long-time condominium law columnist. Also speaking will be representatives from Lieberman Management to discuss condominium management issues and Harris Bank to discuss financing options for building repairs and improvements.

People who are interested in the subject but can not attend the meeting can send questions to Rep. Hamos, by calling 847-424-9898 or via condolaw@juliehamos.org.
